Transport Layer Security (TLS) – A Network Security Protocol for E-commerce
نویسنده
چکیده
Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol has been developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as the standard protocol for providing security services in the context of E-commerce over the Internet. Thus TLS enabled web servers form the portals through which E-commerce client server interaction takes place. This paper provides an overview of the design and workings of the TLS protocol and how it enables network security for E-commerce. It would be of help to those wishing to get a concise description and a clear understanding of the TLS protocol before implementing it for Ecommerce. Another important contribution of this paper is a comparison between the IPSec security protocol and TLS in the context of E-commerce applications.

Detecting Bot Networks Based On HTTP And TLS Traffic Analysis
Abstract— Bot networks are a serious threat to cyber security, whose destructive behavior affects network performance directly. Detecting of infected HTTP communications is a big challenge because infected HTTP connections are clearly merged with other types of HTTP traffic. Cybercriminals prefer to use the web as a communication environment to launch application layer attacks and secretly enga...
متن کاملRFC 5953 TLS Transport Model for SNMP August
This document describes a Transport Model for the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), that uses either the Transport Layer Security protocol or the Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) protocol. The TLS and DTLS protocols provide authentication and privacy services for SNMP applications. This document describes how the TLS Transport Model (TLSTM) implements the needed features of a S...
متن کاملA Secure Electronic Payment Protocol Design and Implementation
Electronic payment is the very important step of the electronic business system, and its security must be ensured. SSL/TLS and SET are two widely discussed means of securing online credit card payments. Because of implementation issues, SET has not really been adopted by e-commerce participants, whereas, despite the fact that it does not address all security issues, SSL/TLS is commonly used for...
متن کاملA Posture Transport Protocol over TLS (PT-TLS)
This document specifies PT-TLS, a TLS-based Posture Transport (PT) protocol. The PT-TLS protocol carries the Network Endpoint Assessment (NEA) message exchange under the protection of a Transport Layer Security (TLS) secured tunnel.
متن کاملOn the Detection of Fake Certificates via Attribute Correlation
Transport Layer Security (TLS) and its predecessor, SSL, are important cryptographic protocol suites on the Internet. They both implement public key certificates and rely on a group of trusted certificate authorities (i.e., CAs) for peer authentication. Unfortunately, the most recent research reveals that, if any one of the pre-trusted CAs is compromised, fake certificates can be issued to inte...
